New Features in version 6.60

Version 6.60 boasts a list of new features. This is a fairly major upgrade from version 6.50 and changes almost every page of the website.

LAYOUT

CFWebstore has always been built for developers and required a certain programming knowledge to make a good looking website. The latest version gives you more control over the layout, from the admin, than every before.

  • Responsive Design - CFWebstore layouts are built on the Foundation framework. This CSS and JS library allows you website to look great on all platforms from desktop to tablet to mobile phone.
  • Color Palettes - You now have extensive layout controls over the website. You can specify colors for buttons, headers, icons, etc. You can also specify the fonts for body and titles.
  • Top Bar
    • Add social icons to the top of your site.
    • Add marketing content at the very top with a text scroller.
    • Add a menu links.
  • Header - Choose your logo and links that appear in the header.
    • Choose icons and fuctions for your header.
      • Search - You can have a search bar or a hidden search bar that slide into view.
      • My Account - New pop-up login and dropdown menu.
      • Store Locator - Google Map and store hours.
      • Phone - On mobile, links directly to your phone number.
      • Email
      • Favorites - Takes you to your wishlist.
      • Shopping Cart Dropdown - Customer can now always see their shopping cart.

  • Footer Manager - Choose the content you want to see in the footer - open text, menus, social media icons, and more.

 

MENUS

No more default, left column menus. The new menus are fully dynamic and responsive.

  • Menu Styles - You can now choose 4 different menu styles.
    • Default - drop down menus.
    • Left Column - left column menu. Choose between accordian, flyout, or no expansion.
    • Single Row - A single row of links that automatically hide if they're too wide for the screen.
    • Mega Menu - Requires a 3rd party license.
  • Menu Links
    • Exclude categories from the Menu
    • Allow non-menu items (NULL links)
    • Allow URL redirects so you can add menu with any destination.
    • Choose the number of levels of dropdowns. So if your categories go 4 levels deep but you only want to show the first 2 levels in the menus, you can.
  • Mobile Menus
    • Mobile menus now appear off-canvas by default.
    • Drilldown mobile menu automatically appears.
    • Mobile menus automatically switch to icon menus
    • Two versions of the mobile menu fit condensed sceen.
  • Icon Menus - Choose the icons you want to appear - search, user, locations, wish list, and more.

 

SEARCH

Customers have grown accustomed to good search search results. We've spent a lot of time to improve both the quality of the search and the appearance of the output.

  • Solr Search - Choose to search the database or newly added Solr search. Solr creates ranked search like a minature Google that gives your customers much more relevant results.
  • Search by Category - You can now limit your search by category.
  • Choose the style of your search bar.
    • Defaults to a hidden search bar that slides open.
    • Visible search bar in the header.
  • Choose your search criteria - Choose is you want to search categories, pages, products, and blog. Most sites only need to search by products.
  • Product Auto-complete - When someone starts typing, the most likely results will be shown. If a product is chosen they'll go directly to that product instead of a search page.
  • Styled results - The old style of search results didn't match anything else on the website. Now product search results look like product listings.

 

SOCIAL MEDIA

Make sure customers know where to find you. They can follow you on all the latest social media.

  • Easily add your social media links through the store admin.
  • Icons can be automatically added to the topbar or footer.

 

HOME PAGE

This is the most important page of the website. Before, all you had was a text box. Now, you can choose from a variety of content to tease your customers all through the Home Page Manager in the admin.

  • Alert Message - Appears a the top of the home page with a red background. Let customer know you're on vacation or the last day to order before Christmas.
  • Hero Image - The background image expands for full screen width but the text stays centered.
  • Slide Show - Show any of the galleries as a slideshow.
  • Categories - Show your top categories.
  • Product Slider - Show an array of your top products in slider format.
  • Product Masonry - Show an array of your top products in a masonry format.
  • Multiple Text Boxes - Custom text boxes that you can display in any order intersperced with the other home page functions.
  • Gallery - Show another gallery in any format.
  • Blog Posts - Show teasers of your latest blog posts.


 

 

IMAGE GALLERY

Great images are more important than ever. You can now add a gallery to categories, pages, and products.

  • Galleries can be added to almost any page on the website.
  • Choose from 4 different styles of galleries
    • Slider - full width home page slider
    • Default Gallery - show all the images in a nice square format.
    • Masonry Gallery - a Pinterest style layouts
    • Employee Listing - show your employees in a great format.
  • Gallery Manager - You have full control over the speed of the slider, the number of columns in the gallery, and more. You can also specify the maximum sizes for your images for automatic resizing.
  • Image Resizing - No longer do you have to resize all your images manually. Simple upload your largest image and the website will create the thumbnail and resized large image.
  • Bulk Upload - Uploading dozens or even hundreds of photos can take a long time. With our new drag-n-drop system you can drag you images from your desktop to the website and then leave the page. Come back a few minutes later and the images will have been uploaded, resized, and added to the gallery.

 

DEALERS

A dealer map allows you to show the location of your stores, your vendors, your reps, your favorite places, etc.

  • Choose between two styles:
    • Google Map - Use an interactive Google Map with your location show with pins. NOTE: Requires a free Google Account.
    • vMap - Customer clicks on a state to see the results.
  • Add Dealers - Include their contact information, sales rep, logo, and more.
  • Excel Import/Export  - If you already have a list of dealers in Excel, you can import them as a batch.

 

BLOG

CFWebstore now has a fully intergrated blog. Search engines love blogs because the content is always being updated. It's also a great place for you to store help articles that you can point your customers to.

  • Choose from Standard or Masonry layout.
  • Blog Search - variety of ways to search for articles - cloud, categories, text search.
  • Comments - Let your customer add their own opinion. You have the option to approve comments before they go live.

 

 

PRODUCTS

We've made a ton of changes to give you more more control over how you display your products. Our new grid system gives you better organization and a better look.

  • Product Category Layout - You now have more choices than ever on how to layout your products
    • Choose the listing style: Do you want a vertical or horizontal layout?
    • Choose a grid style - Do you want to see the grid, should all images be the same size?
    • Choose what to show the listing - EX: Show the image, name, and description only.
  • Product Detail Page
    • Tabbed Content - Choose between a single text box or tabbed text boxes.
    • Content Position - do you want the long description in the right column or full width.
    • Reviews - Updated layouts make reviews better looking to the customer.
  • New Image Manager - Products have 4 standard sizes used throughout the website. The image manager not only creates the proper images but organizes and labels them all in the product folder.
  • Options - New options interace.
    • Option Images - You can now add images to your product options. Simply upload the largest image and the other sizes will be created and filled in.
    • Option Styles - More than just dropdowns!
      • Show image thumbnails of the options
      • Swap the main product image when you click on the option thumbnail
  • Inventory - Syncing inventory across platforms is one of the most difficult problems with eCommerce. Our system now allows you to combine two options with one SKU.
  • File Manager - Want to attach some PDFs to the product, the new Files manager lets you upload and show on the product.

 

WISH LISTS

Improved wish lists save the products addons and options. You can add them directly to the shopping cart without issue.

 

SHOPPING CART

Last thing you want to do is loose a customer once they've made it to the shopping cart. Our new shopping cart let's the customer know where they are and what's happening.

  • New Style -
    • Know were you are in the checkout process.
    • You can now see the shopping cart through the checkout process.
    •  
  • Inventory Check - Instead of waiting until the end of checkout, we now have an inventory check in the shopping cart.
  • Save for Later - If you have an item in your basket but you're not ready to purchase it yet, you can add it to 'Save for Later'. This only shows up in the shopping cart and is a great reminder.
  • Use card on file - If you're using a payment gateway that uses tokens, your customer can save their card and then use it on subsequent checkouts.

 

PAYMENT GATEWAYS WITH TOKENS

Ever need to change the amount you charged a customer's credit card? Maybe they changed their mind and changed their order or you can't quote shipping during checkout and have to add it later. Now you can.

We now offer as a service, payment gateways with tokens. A token takes the credit card information, encrypts it, and allows you to use it LIKE a credit card. You can make a second charge or void the original charge and then make a single charge for the full amount.
 

SHIPPING

  • Flat Rate Shipping - Example: Offer $5 flat rate shipping on orders over $50.
  • Handling Percentage per Method - Instead of applying one shipping percentage to all shipping methods, you can now set a percentage for each shipping method.
    • This applies a percentage to the Method, not the Order Total. Example: Ground shipping rate is $10, the method percentage is 10%, the rate to the customer is $10.10.
    • You can choose to apply this percentage over a certain weight. Example: Only apply for orders over 50lb.
  • Country List - Turn off countries you don't ship to.
  • State List - Turn off states and provinences that you don't ship to.

 

ORDER MANAGER

Hopefully you'll spend more time processing orders than anything else. We've completely reworked the Order Manager to give you more information and more control over processing orders.

  • Pending - You can now see a snapshot of the order.
  • Order Manager - You can now process the order entirely from one screen.
  • Payments - Payments are now separate from the orders so you can take multiple payments. Maybe someone wants to split payment on two credit cards. No problem. You can add additional payment to the same order.
    • Refund and Void - If you're using one the payment gateways that use tokens (Paypal, Authorize, Stripe, etc) you can void a charge or  issue a refund, including partial refund, right from the admin.
  • Basket - Need to change the quantity of a product? May add a new product to the order? You can now update orders through the admin.
  • Shipping - Shipping now allows you to split items into multiple orders. So you if you have an item that's backordered or requires extra work, you can create one shipment for everything that's ready, print a shipping label (if using Easypost), and send the tracking number to your customer. When the remaining products are ready you can create another shipment and send the order to Filled.

ABANDONED CART

Abandoned carts are a huge loss to any eCommerce store. Converting those abandoned carts back in sales can be a huge money maker. We have the tools to help.

  • Abandoned Cart Manager - View the abandoned carts - products, address, shipping method.
  • Steps - Know where customers are leaving. Each step during checkout is recorded.
  • Follow-up emails - Schedule automatic emails to send the customers who left their carts behind. Invite them back to finish their checkout.
  • Report - How many customers came back and finished their cart? Read the report to find out.

 

WISH LIST MANAGER

Now you can see what people have stored in their wish lists.

 

DISCOUNTS

  • Promotions - You can now set limits on your promotions.
  • Shipping Coupon - You can now offer discounts on shipping only.

 

GIFT CERTIFICATES

  • There are now three ways to delivery a gift certificate
    • Send an email to the recipient with the gift certificate code. Confirmation email sent to buyer.
    • Send an email to the recipient with the gift certificate code + an attached PDF copy. Confirmation email sent to buyer.
    • Send an email and PDF to the Admin who can then print a physical copy and send it to the recipient or customer via USPS. Confirmation email sent to buyer.
  • You can print out the PDF yourself or use it as template for print a hardcopy on nice paper and mail it to the recipient.

 

ADMIN

  • Dynamic Menus - You can now control the admin menus. Move the links around to where you like them or even hide them completely.
  • Logs - 3rd party events are now recorded to the dynamic logs that you can view through the admin.
  • System Text - Now you can edit text you couldn't edit before.
  • Holidays - Enter in Federal holidays or days that you won't be processing and shipping orders. Currently used by Easypost.
  • Main Settings - You now have more control over the webiste.
    • Full address

  • Logo - you can now specify your logo image for desktop, mobile, and print.

 

EMAIL

CFWebstore now sends out HTML emails by default.

  • lay_email - There's now a default email template for all email on the website. You can alter it to customize your emai.

 

SERVICES

Nucom Web Hosting is now offering code as a service. What would be an expensive add-ons are now available for a responsible monthly fee. View a full list of services and pricing at

  • Amazon - Download orders from your Amazon store into CFWebstore.
  • Easypost - You can now print shipping labels from the CFWebstore admin.
    • Show shipping rates in the shopping cart from dozens of different shippers.
    • Show estimated delivery date beside the rates.
    • Show tracking information on your website.
    • When also using Twilio, send shipping updates to your customers. They get a text message when the package arrives at their doorstep!
  • Avalara Avatax - Need to pay sales tax in more than one state? Our Avatax API gives you accurate sales tax rates for anywhere in the country.
  • Quickbooks Online - Import orders and customers into your Quickbooks Online account. No more double entry, no more mistakes.
  • Payment Gateway Tokens - We offer multiple payment gateways that allow you to use tokens. Tokens can be used to make multiple customer charges.
  • 3rd Party Email Services - Mailchimp & Constant Contact are two of the most popular email list services on the web. You can add your login, choose your list, and CFWebstore will automatically add your new customers to your mailing list.
  • LightSpeed POS - We offer inventory interaction with LightSpeed POS.
